Delivery skippers often work on either a freelance basis or for an agency. Agencies and delivery companies are always on the lookout for skilled sailors, and the more qualified you are, the more appealing you’ll be. Whether you hold an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or Ocean ticket determines whether you’ll be able to deliver yachts on a short- or long-haul basis.
You’ll be professionally trained but, just as importantly, will be able to demonstrate that you’re a reliable and determined person with a mature working attitude. Overall you’ll need to prove the agent and the owner can trust you to take the utmost care of the yacht you’re delivering.
You’ll be a competent sailor, professional at all times, and always be meticulous in your attention to detail. Safety will be of greatest importance to you and your strong communication skills will help to keep your crew, and the yacht, free from harm.

This highly practical course will qualify you to skipper yachts up to 150 nautical miles from shore, great for short-haul deliveries around the UK or around Europe.
You’ll cover over your nautical miles and complete shore-based training in yacht maintenance, engineering, navigation and theory. You’ll qualify to skipper and crew long-haul yacht deliveries all around the world.Register interest
