Neilson funding

Neilson funding

Our unique partnership with Neilson, a leading active holiday provider, gives you the chance to work in one of their amazing beach resorts after completing a ten-week course at UKSA.

About the fund

With a shortage of qualified watersports instructors to meet the demands of the popular and growing active holiday industry, we have teamed up with Neilson to find the right people for the job to deliver the highest quality training and remove the financial barriers that many may face.

The bespoke, part-funded course gives you the chance to train to become a dinghy instructor or windsurfing instructor during a ten-week course delivered at our waterfront base in Cowes. You will pay only £1,000 towards the costs and Neilson will fund the remaining £3,995.

Upon successful completion of the all-inclusive course you are guaranteed a job in one of their European beach resorts in either Greece, Spain, Sardinia or Croatia.

Who can apply?

You need to be over 18 and have some previous recreation watersports experience that includes a minimum of one week’s recent dinghy or windsurfing experience. If you don’t have this experience, you can complete our two-week Kickstart course to gain the required time on the water.

You must have a desire to pursue a career in the watersports industry on a beachside location and have an outgoing and enthusiastic personality!

How to apply

Due to the popularity of this course, applications for selection dates will re-open in 2020.

#SeaChangeStories

One of the best things about being at USKA was getting to know lots of different people – the people on the same courses as me, the instructors, the staff. You build a massive ‘tree’ of contacts here – so now I know people in Dubai, Necker Island, Australia and all over the world. Wherever I’ve gone and worked, whether it’s sailing, yachting or windsurfing, everyone knows UKSA!
