Hi everyone, this is Jo from the leisure sales department of UKSA.
Here at UKSA we offer a huge range of leisure courses from children’s watersports sessions to RYA dinghy courses and bespoke packages for corporate groups. Really, there’s something for everyone whether you just want to have some fun with friends and do something different, or you take your sailing seriously and want to get certification.
This year we are offering something a bit different for the 2014 J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race. It’s a fantastic opportunity to race alongside the big boys and have some competitive fun! We have limited places available but we can take you our on our Farr 65 yacht. It’s a two-day package with everything included so for £300 each, it’s really good value and definitely a weekend you won’t forget in a hurry!
You’ll join us on Friday June 20 for Training Day and this will give the crew a chance to get to know each other. You’ll have a safety briefing, get your kit sorted, familiarise yourself with the boat and what needs doing, and you will talk tactics! Lunch and dinner is included on this day, and you will sleep overnight on the yacht, which is an experience in itself. On the Saturday (June 21) it’s Race Day, so we’ll get you started with a breakfast and a safety briefing. You are sure to love the thrill of the race, and as well as enjoying the challenge of the sailing you will get to see the sights of the beautiful Isle of Wight as you sail past the beaches, towns and villages. After the race there will be a debrief and lunch.
This Easter we have plenty going on, with half day watersports sessions for £20 and full days for £40, for anyone over the age of eight. Adults can join in too, so it’s suitable for all the family, or a great solution for working parents who want to leave their children in a safe yet inspiring and enjoyable environment. Week-long courses are also running for those looking to achieve RYA certification in dinghy sailing – choose from Dinghy Start, Dinghy Improver and Dinghy Advanced. The ultimate on-the-water experience for any young person, and one they will never forget, is the week-long residential Easter Camp. Stay all week with food, accommodation, kit, tuition and entertainment included!
Something new for August is Dinghy Minis, for the younger age group of five to seven year olds. The courses will be a week long, with five morning or afternoon sessions, aimed at getting your little ones out on the water and familiar with Dinghy Sailing. Many sailing families don’t want to wait until their child is eight before they can do a UKSA course, so this is the perfect opportunity to get them out on the dinghies at a very young age and get them used to it.
If this all sounds like an opportunity not to be missed, give me a call to find out more. I’m on 01983 203001 or email [email protected]
