A bursary that helps people launch a career at sea has been topped up by $5,000 thanks to superyacht crews out in the Caribbean.

The Milo Hanlon Bursary benefited from the second annual IYC Crew Limitless Marathon in St Maarten last month. More than 200 crew members and supporters including Motor Yacht LAZY Z and the IYC Crew Division attended throughout the day, participating in events including a charity fun run, barbecue, pool party and costume party to raise money as a tribute to superyacht cadet Milo, who sadly died while in the early stage of his career.

The bursary is in his name and is used to raise money to help new yacht crew enter the industry.

Emma Baggett, our Industry and Cadetship Manager, said: “It is fantastic to have this support from superyacht crew. The Milo Bursary appeal has struck a chord with those in the superyacht industry and we feel very grateful to everyone involved for their enthusiasm and hard work in organising this event and their help to raise this substantial sum.”
