Updated Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques
Following the Manila Amendments to the STCW Convention (STCW 2010) If you are serving onboard ship and are qualified in Personal Survival Techniques (PST) STCW A-VI/1-1, (recognised equivalent pre 31 January 2000: Basic Sea Survival) you must, as of the 1st January 2017, have documentary evidence of having completed an Updated Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques training course within the last 5 years;

The STCW Update Training for Updated Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques course will provide seafarers with the required training to refresh the Personal Survival Techniques (PST) STCW A-VI/1-1 certification.
If the issue date of your Personal Survival Techniques or STCW Basic Safety Training qualification is prior to January 2014 you will be required to update this qualification before 1st January 2019.

Attendance
100% attendance is required and you will be expected to actively participate in all aspects of the course, for successful completion.
Course Aim
To provide seafarers with the required update training to come in line with the Manilla amendments stated in MSN 1865.
Methodology
The course will use mixture of direct teaching, group discussion with practical demonstration and exercises.
Course Assessment
Individuals will be assessed by continuous practical assessment.
