We are increasing our capacity on the ECDIS course due to popular demand, and because from January more people in the industry will have to take it.

The Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems, known as ECDIS, covers the general principles of operation of an Electronic Chart System and the regulations for the operation. It also includes time spent on basic software learning the methods of setting up, updating, loading new charts and software.  Two days will be spent learning the basic operation before moving on to passage planning and performing a series of tasks on the ship simulator to fully understand navigating using Electronic Charts.

You must hold an Officer of the Watch (Yachts less than 3000gt) Certificate of Competency or be following an approved training course leading to the Officer of the Watch (Yachts less than 3000gt) Certificate of Competency. You must have completed your sea service for OOW.
