Do something different for your children this October half term.

If you book them into a course at UKSA you can be sure it’ll be a week they’ll never forget.

We have two options available, the fully-residential Autumn Camp and a range of RYA Dinghy Sailing courses for those who want to learn to sail.

Autumn Camp runs from October 28 to November 1, and it’s a fun-filled action-packed week full of adventure. It’s suitable for young people of all abilities, giving them the chance to forge new friendships, get out onto the water and earn how to windsurf, sail or kayak under the expert guidance of our experienced instructors.

Our camps are fully residential and built around an exciting programme of social activities. Discos, fashion shows, Ironman competitions, dragon boating, crabbing, raft building and land-based initiative games all add to the fun and adventure.

All equipment and food is included so there’s nothing to worry about, making it the perfect solution for working parents or for those who feel their children need something positive to do with their week off school. A non-residential option is also available.

The RYA Dinghy courses also run throughout the week, suitable for young people age 8-15, and you can choose whether to go residential or non-residential. There are three levels to select from: Start, Improver and Advanced.

Our RYA accredited Dinghy Start course is designed for complete beginners. By the end of the course the participants will have learnt all about the essentials of sail handling, wind awareness, steering, rope work and safety at sea – to gain their RYA Youth Stage 1 and 2.

Our RYA accredited Dinghy Improver course is ideal for those who have completed the first levels. By the end of the course their skill and knowledge level will have progressed improving sail techniques and manoeuvres, safety at sea covering man overboard recovery, rules of the road and meteorology. This course is for RYA Youth Stage 3 and 4.

Our RYA accredited Dinghy Advanced course starts to look into the advanced skills of navigation and passage planning, as well as experience on high performance boats covering trapezing and spinnaker work with symmetric and asymmetric spinnakers. This course will see the young people gain their RYA Youth Day Sailing and RYA Youth Performance Sailing.
