Residential Trips for Schools and Youth Groups

Let their aspirations soar

Our bespoke residential trips are designed to build confidence and encourage teamwork using watersports and the great outdoors as a catalyst for positive outcomes.

About the programme

Dive into our multi-activity programmes

The benefits of participation in sailing and watersports are multiple and proven, helping to build confidence, teamwork and resilience. We’ve been delivering inspirational programmes to young people for over 30 years and we are passionate about using outdoor learning as a catalyst for positive change.

Our water-based outdoor learning programmes give young people the chance to try various disciplines that call on a multitude of personal and inter-personal skills. Activities can include dinghy sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding and raft building. Outdoor learning activities in the day are complemented by evening activities, such as indoor football, swimming, archery, crabbing and games in the park.

During the winter months we run our Winter Warmer  programme

Aimed at secondary schools with activities focused on maritime but including more shoreside and indoor activities.

Depending on the length of the residential visit, the Winter Warmer programme will include survival at sea and ashore, keel and deck work such as learning knots, lashings, rigging and boat controls as well as radio use and communications techniques such as Mayday calls. Students will also learn basic plotting with navigational charts and maps, team building exercises and will take part in a beach clean or maritime walk in Cowes.

We are part of the Great British School Trip powered by Hyundai.

#SeaChangeStories

At least 10% of our students have special needs. Our autistic students became comfortable to be in wetsuits and in the cold water. Another student who was a selective mute became comfortable to speak his name to an instructor by the end of the week.
