Can you or your business help Island good causes this summer?

A wish list of items is needed by the young people volunteering on the National Citizen Service (NCS). The teenagers will spend four weeks on the scheme and part of that time includes working on community projects to help local charities and organisations.

NCS is being delivered on the Island by youth charity UKSA in partnership with the Football League Trust. Among the charities and groups they are helping are the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, Ability Dogs 4 Young People, I-Surf, Little Love Lane Pre-school, Lanesend Primary School, Sunken Wrecks Museum and Way Forward.

If you can help by donating any of the following items, it would be much appreciated:

paint brushes

masonry paint

30 pairs of overalls

30 pairs of outdoor gloves

a large garden shed

ten fencing panels

old kitchen equipment (for a mud kitchen)

cheap signwriting

15 sets of spades and forks

four garden strimmers

a large quantity of gravel

Anyone who can help can contact Lionel Bridgman, NCS Co-ordinator, on [email protected] or phone him on 203005.
