A core part UKSA’s strategic mission is to continually develop our services, assets, and people to meet the needs of children and young people now and for future generations.
In 2024, through our partnerships with Cambridge University and George Williams College (The Centre for Youth Impact), we developed two unique Theories of Change supporting this. These were Impactful Adventures on the Water for children who would not normally be able to attend UKSA and Maritime Careers Training for employment in the industry.
Over the past year, we have continued to embed these principles into our programmes, expanding our reach and refining our approach to maximise impact. You can find out more about how these frameworks support our activities below.
Impactful Adventures on the Water: Theory of Change
Maritime Careers: Theory of Change
To externally validate the impact of our Maritime Career Programmes, UKSA partnered with YMCA George Williams College (Centre for Youth Impact), which supports improved outcomes for young people.
Together, we redeveloped our Theory of Change for 2023/24, later refined internally, using analysis of three sets of quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate both short- and long-term impact.
