Stephen Thomas fund

The fund was created in memory of Stephen Thomas – a passionate adventurer and accomplished ocean yachtsman.

Through generous donations made in his name, this fund provides vital financial support to young people who share his love of sailing but lack the means to pursue professional yacht training.

Money donated in memory of Stephen Thomas, a keen adventurer and ocean yachtsman, is helping young people at UKSA enjoy the adventure of sailing and being at sea. The Stephen Thomas Fund was established to distribute funds to offer professional yacht career training to those who would otherwise not be able to afford it.

You must be aged between 18 and 25 and applying for a professional yacht training course at UKSA, without the necessary funds to pay for the course.

Your course advisor will be able to assess your eligibility, advise you on how much you might be able to get funded for, and support you with your funding applications.

Please call 01983 203038 or email [email protected]

Unless otherwise agreed, all financial assistance awarded to students is repayable. This means you will start paying back the money loaned to you from UKSA three months after your course finishes.

#SeaChangeStories

If I was to advise anyone considering a Superyacht Cadetship, I would say bite the bullet! It’s hard work but it really does pay off. There are long-term benefits of permanent friendships, excellent qualifications and networking potential – being a UKSA cadet has already generated interest in me from some prestigious yachts and crew.
