To become an apprentice in the UK you must live in the UK and be over the age of 16.

Why should I become an apprentice?

Gain the skills and qualifications you want in a career that interests you, and you’ll be paid a salary as well!
Apprenticeships are a great way to kick start your career are here are 10 reasons why:
  • Hands-on experience: Apprenticeships provide practical, hands-on experience in a specific industry or trade. This is helpful as it enables you to put academic information to use in practical situations.
  • Skill development: Apprenticeships focus on skill development, helping you acquire the practical skills needed for a particular job. This will enhance your employability and make you more competitive in the job market.
  • Industry connections: Apprenticeships often involve working closely with experienced professionals in your chosen field. This presents an excellent chance to establish a network of mentors, industry contacts, and potential employers.
  • Earn while you learn: Unlike traditional education, apprenticeships  come with a salary and annual leave. This means you can earn money while gaining practical experience and avoiding the financial burden of student loans.
  • Career advancement:  Completing an apprenticeship opens doors to various career opportunities. Many employers value hands-on experience, and having an apprenticeship on your CV can make you stand out in the job market.
  • Industry relevant qualifications: Apprenticeships lead to industry-recognised qualifications and certifications. These are  essential when seeking employment or advancing in your career.
  • Personalised training: Apprenticeships offer personalised training tailored to the specific needs of the industry. This targeted approach can accelerate your learning and development.
  • Job Security: Industries that rely on skilled workers often face shortages in qualified personnel. By completing an apprenticeship, you position yourself as a skilled professional, increasing your job security and marketability.
  • Smooth transition to employment: Completing an apprenticeship often leads to a full-time job with the company where you trained. Employers often prefer hiring individuals who have already demonstrated their skills and commitment during an apprenticeship.
  • Enjoy what you do:  Not only are apprenticeships a great way to really understand an industry and find a career that you enjoy, as with many workplaces you get to meet different people and make new friends.
