RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency

About the course

This course will help you master the skills you need to operate your personal watercraft safely and confidently at sea. Perfect if you’re new to watersports and want to learn how to use your craft responsibly, safely, and with confidence. It’s also suitable for those with plenty of experience but have no formal qualifications.

You’ll learn about launch, recovery and passage planning, high and low speed riding skills, collision avoidance, and orientation at sea. You’ll also learn the skills and knowledge you need to obtain the RYA PWC Proficiency Certificate, which is required by most UK harbour and port authorities if you want to use a jet ski in their waters.

Once you’ve successfully completed the course, you’ll be awarded your Personal Watercraft Proficiency certificate. The syllabus is taught with a ratio of (6:1) students to instructor.

This is a non-residential, one-day course that will include your lunch. A fully residential option is available – please enquire at time of booking.

International Certificate of Competency (ICC ) Application

Prerequisites

You do not require any specific qualifications or experience to take part in this course, however, you must be aged 12 years or older.
