A personal watercraft can be a single-seater machine, or one that holds two to three people. These fast, exciting watercrafts are fun to ride, but it’s important that they are handled with care.
About the Course
Delivered by Bembridge Powerboat Training, this course will help you master the skills you need to operate your personal watercraft safely and confidently at sea. Perfect if you’re new to watersports and want to learn how to use your craft responsibly, safely, and with confidence. It’s also suitable for those with plenty of experience but have no formal qualifications.
If you would like to add on your ICC to you booking please inform our advisors at time of booking. There is a direct fee to the RYA for this.
- This is a non-residential, one-day course that will include your lunch. A fully residential option is available – please enquire at time of booking.
- RYA Youth Stage 1 and 2
- If the participant meets the pre-requites for this course, but have not sailed within 6 months of their previous course, please be aware that a knowledge and skill gap may occur which could result in incompletion of the RYA stages advertised being signed off.
- Please note that in the case where not all sections of a previous level have been met, our chief instructor / watersports manager will review on a case-by-case basis as to whether they feel that the child is ready for the next level, and that they will have the opportunity to complete previous missed sections, without it disrupting the rest of the group.
Once you’ve successfully completed the course, you’ll be awarded RYA Personal Watercraft (PWC) Proficiency Certificate, which is required by most UK harbour and port authorities if you want to use a jet ski in their waters.

- High and low speed riding skills
- collision avoidance
- orientation at sea.
