Leadership & Management (HELM)

Developing effective management skills

We have approval from the MCA to offer the programmes and course modules required to obtain internationally recognised Certificates of Competency (CoC). The overall aim of these modules is to provide masters and officers with the necessary knowledge understanding and proficiency to safely and efficiently manage a ship’s resources and personnel.

HELM courses at UKSA

We offer the following HELM courses at our waterfront base:

HELM courses will develop the management skills of young watch keeping officers and will enhance the existing knowledge, skills and understanding of experienced Masters and Officers.

Both levels of HELM will facilitate effective crew management by encouraging participation, knowledge sharing and best practice.
