Yachting
In order to gain the breadth and depth of knowledge of required at Yachmaster level, UKSA is a firm believer in delivering training on multiple types of yachts. Within the maritime world, skippers and crews will come across a vast amount of different vessels and systems. For this reason, we will endeavour to give everyone the opportunity to experience sailing on as many different types of vessels during their course including a diverse charter fleet and our own vessels in order to better prepare them. This will help to develop the skills and confidence that a Yachtmaster needs to transfer their skills onto any type of vessel they choose to go on.
The yachts we currently use for sail training
- One ‘Farr’ 65ft yacht designed specifically to be a high-performance racing vessel that can be safely sailed by an amateur crew
- Four ‘Jeanneau’ 449 yachts, which provide a great balance between performance and cruising comfort
- Three ‘Colgate’ 26ft matched keelboats give confidence and skills to beginners
- Three ‘J80′ keelboats – great fun and designed specifically for training and racing
