Northside Young Leaders

“Many say that some of the activities the young people take part in now are because of the experience they gained during their time at UKSA.”

Northside Young Leaders visited UKSA in July of 2024, bringing a group of young people for a 3-day residential for an exciting adventure.

“We have taken small groups to UKSA before and their parents are still raving about it.” Safiya Clunis-Emekwue, a Leader at Northside Young Leaders Academy, began when recounting how she felt the trip went. “Many say that some of the activities the young people take part in now are because of the experience they gained during their time at UKSA.”

We were excited to welcome the group back in 2024 for a new group of young people to learn life skills and make memories. “Some of our children arrived with a fear of the water, but within hours they were jumping in, laughing and had developed water confidence. The trip was such a success, students improved their communication, teamwork, determination and decision making, and left with amazing memories of particularly the team games, yummy food and friendly staff.”

Northside Young Leaders would not have been able to attend without the support of the Leave No Child Behind Fund, “The service UKSA provides is totally incredible! Lots of our young people would have never been able to afford an experience like this without the funded places offered. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are eternally grateful.”
