 Charitable Charters: Empowering Through Sailing

In partnership with The Neighbourly Charitable Trust, UKSA is proud to offer deserving individuals the chance to participate in our Charitable Charter Programme. This initiative provides young people and adults the opportunity to develop vital life skills, boost their confidence, and discover new passions, whether it’s trying something outside their comfort zones or enhancing their sailing abilities.

Since 2019, The Neighbourly Charitable Trust has been a generous supporter of UKSA, and in 2025, they will continue to provide the resources necessary to create enriching opportunities for those who need them most. As part of this ongoing commitment, The Neighbourly Charitable Trust has donated a fully equipped vessel that is available for free charter by charities within the areas of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire, creating memorable experiences for participants on the water.

Impactful Experiences

Through this programme, organisations such as VISA GB and Sailing Vision have been able to provide life-changing experiences for their participants.

Below are some quotes that highlight the impact of these voyages:

  • “For some, it’s a relaxing week, while others enjoy the action of sailing” Sailing Vision
  • “All in all, it was a fantastic trip, and we all learned a lot from each other. Thank you to everyone who took part in this trip, to those who organised it at VISA-GB, and to Metro Blind Sport for supporting the visually impaired crew to take part in this trip.” Anil Kanani, VISA-GB
  • “It was my first time to sail and I did not know what to expect. It was a fantastic experience, made better in the company of wonderful people. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful! Thank you very much to everyone for making my first sailing experience a memorable one, and to VISA-GB and Metro for giving visually impaired people like me the opportunity to experience such an activity!” “For some, it’s a relaxing week, while others enjoy the action of sailing.”— Ollie Cousins, VISA-GB
