RYA Multihull Endorsement
About the course
This course is delivered over two days and the syllabus is taught with a ratio of 6:1 students to instructor.
With sessions ashore and afloat, you’ll learn how to coach multihull sailing skills through sessions ashore and afloat. You’ll develop the skills needed to offer a good briefing, run sessions to improve student performance, and deliver high quality, high impact debriefs.
The programme covers the teaching of boat handling, the use of spinnakers and trapeze work using harnesses with quick-release hooks. Inversion and entrapment issues will also be discussed. During the training, you’ll be continuously assessed.
Keelboat and dinghy endorsements are also available.
This is an all-inclusive course, your accommodation and food for the weekend are included in the cost.
Prerequisites
To complete this course, you’ll need:
- To be at least 16 years old
- A valid first aid certificate
- An RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate
- Hold RYA Dinghy Instructor certificate
Qualifications
Upon successful completion, you’ll be certified as an RYA Multihull Instructor and will be able to teach all aspects of the RYA National Sailing Scheme in multihulls.
