Woodland and Waves Residential Trips

Train, learn and grow

Our customised programmes are designed to build confidence and encourage teamwork using a wide range of activities and outdoor learning as a catalyst for positive outcomes.

During the autumn and spring months we run our Woodland & Waves dual centre programme with our Island partner from Inspiring Learning, Kingswood.  This brilliant experience gives you the best of all worlds including activities focused on both maritime and shoreside.  We help you pick and mix your sports and experiences to ensure you have a programme which reflects your requirements, the length of your stay and your budget.

About the programme

Spoilt for choice

The Woodland & Waves programme encourages resilience and teamwork along with problem solving, which benefits students when they return to the classroom environment and back to their own communities and social groups.

Depending on the length of the residential visit, the Woodland & Waves syllabus includes  double hander dinghy sailing, keelboating, Canadian canoeing,  powerboating and sea survival skills and then climbing, abseiling, zip wire, aero ball, high and low ropes, buggy build and bushcraft.

With adventures to last a lifetime, this exciting programme also gives students the opportunity to try their hand at climbing, archery, canoeing and volleyball not to mention den building, water polo, disco, movie nights and crabbing.

Available for young people as a dual centre experience, UKSA and Kingswood provide a combined four-night, five-day stay to enjoy both water and land based activities.  This programme is also available as a combined two-night, three-day residential stay during weekends with a day trip to the second centre.

#SeaChangeStories

At least 10% of our students have special needs. Our autistic students became comfortable to be in wetsuits and in the cold water. Another student who was a selective mute became comfortable to speak his name to an instructor by the end of the week.
