UKSA’s Superyacht Hospitality Foundation course delivers all the qualifications, practical skills, industry guidance, knowledge and support required by stewards and stewardesses at the beginning of their careers in this luxury industry.

What were you doing before you came to UKSA?

I was working 2 full-time jobs after leaving my A-Levels in March 2020 due to COVID-19

How did you hear about UKSA and what made you do the Hospitality course with us?

I heard about UKSA through a friend that completed their Professional Yachtmaster Offshore a few years back. I chose to do the course at UKSA not only for its incredible reputation throughout the industry but also for the pathway it would give me into starting my first job.

What was life like at UKSA?

Life at UKSA is something I will never forget, although it was during COVID-19 (March 2021), the staff were super welcoming and gave me an eye-opening experience into the yachting industry. The instructors are so friendly and are willing to help you with anything.

Describe your 3 highlights of UKSA

My 3 highlights would certainly be:

1. Flower arranging
2. STCW Fire fighting training
3. Powerboat Level 2 introduction

Now that you’ve finished your course and working in the industry, describe a typical day

My typical day onboard includes breakfast set up, housekeeping, tending to the guests and laundry. I look forward to the incredible views every morning!

Do you have any long-term career plans? If so, what are they?

My long term career plan is to stay in the industry as I work my way up, it’s not often you can say you are working your dream job.

What advice would you offer someone considering our Hospitality course?

My advice would be to do it. The Hospitality course gives you such a boost and guide into the yachting industry. I would also advise that you be super determined and patient. Whether you are in yachting for a year or the rest of your career, it is something you will never forget. Memories that will last for a lifetime.
