“We have been coming to UKSA for four years,” said a teacher. “It suits us to have a residential visit at the beginning of the academic year because teachers can get to know children as individuals, out of school. Soft skills developed on the visit are then taken back to the classroom, so the school benefits from the whole class working as a team throughout the academic year. However, the weather in September isn’t always great. This year our activities had to be adapted because of the weather and the children didn’t even notice!”

“We were really impressed by the whole experience, from UKSA’s care of the environment to the first-class inclusivity – the instructors were amazing and the children with additional needs participated in every single activity. Teachers were also classed as participants and could join in the activities. Because of the instructor to student ratio being 1:6, we knew that the children were safe at all times. Safety is a very important factor to us.”

“There is continuity year on year and great pre-visit information, which makes the trip easier to organise. Because we keep returning, we have seen some of the instructors rise up through the ranks at UKSA. We really enjoy seeing them as they are full of enthusiasm and expertise. The kitchen staff are also very friendly and the food is superb – all our dietary requirements were met and nothing was too much trouble. All in all, UKSA provided a wonderfully safe and secure environment, which was also very practical for a group of children. And at the end of our visit, nobody wanted to go home!”
