UKSA Celebrates Ten Years of "Test the Water" at Kick Off Cowes Week Summer Party

Published 09/08/2024

UKSA is delighted to share the success of our Kick Off Cowes Week summer party, supported by Mermaid Gin, which brought together over 150 of our valued supporters to celebrate an incredible milestone – the ten-year anniversary of our local “Test the Water” programme. The event, held at our waterfront campus in Cowes, was a fantastic opportunity to thank our supporters and provide an update on UKSA’s exciting future plans.

Guests enjoyed a fun-filled evening with activities such as gutter boat racing, while the highlight of the night was an inspiring address by our Welfare Manager, Kim Fry, who shared insights into the challenges faced by the young people we support and how UKSA helps them navigate these obstacles through our life-changing programmes.

A special thank you to Mermaid Gin for their generous support, helping make the event a great success. We were also proud to have our SYI staff supporting the event by assisting with the service, allowing them to gain invaluable real-life experience in a professional setting.

A Decade of Making a Difference

This year’s summer party was a particularly special occasion as we celebrated a decade of our “Test the Water” programme. Over the past ten years, this initiative has introduced thousands of children to the joys of the sea, offering them their first experience on the water while building confidence and learning about the importance of water safety.

Thank you once again to everyone who attended and made this celebration truly memorable. We look forward to continuing to work together to empower the next generation through our programmes and initiatives.
