Paddy Hamlyn

After graduating from UKSA, Paddy had bagged his dream job in the sun!

After finishing his A levels, Paddy decided to use his summer holiday to get some qualifications that would lead into a watersports industry job.

His brother had completed the course and loved it.

Paddy found that …

“… the course was well-structured, fun and engaging. And the instructors were amazing.”

My best memory of UKSA …

“ … is of the fun we had. Every session with the instructors was great and the food was good too. Cowes Week was a particular highlight.”

Enrolling on the course …

“ … was a great decision. UKSA helped me learn a skill that I can now use to travel to Australia and hopefully beyond even that!”

“I’ve now got my multihull and keelboat instructor tickets thanks to this fantastic summer programme.”

What will you be doing now you’ve finished the course?

“I worked with Mark Warner for the 2019 summer season, and I will be working in Australia for the Balmoral Watersports Centre.”

Paddy’s advice:

“Make the most of your time at UKSA and listen to the instructors. They know the industry very well so they can hand on all sorts of advice and knowledge about working at sailing centres worldwide.”
