Residential sailing for Royal Navy Sea Scouts
Royal Navy Sea Scouts
Here at UKSA, we are renowned for our first-class residential and non-residential visits, with activities tailored to each group’s specific desires, age ranges and levels of ability.
Royal Navy Sea Scouts wanted to experience the handling of larger crafts
Recently we sent one of our FARRs over to Portsmouth with two of our instructors. The leaders of a visiting group of Royal Navy Sea Scouts were looking for a larger platform on which to run basic navigation and they wanted the scouts to experience the handling of larger crafts. “The UKSA team provided navigational training digitally and on charts, both while we were at sea and in the evening during our theory sessions,” said a spokesperson. “Many of the scouts were nervous, to begin with, and were limited to 21ft yachts. Using the FARR allowed them to experience a different side to sailing, which has opened their eyes to the possibility of owning or using yachts themselves in the future,” he added.
“In comparison with other trips our group has made, this one far surpassed any other experiences that the scouts have had.”
An education provider that delivered a quality service that was also fun
“When we were choosing an education provider, we were looking for a quality service that was also fun. We are always aware of health and safety requirements and UKSA really helped us with the issuing of relevant inspection records and risk assessments.
This group trip far surpassed any other experiences that the scouts have had
The booking process was easy, with all information communicated clearly and simply. In comparison with other trips our group has made, this one far surpassed any other experiences that the scouts have had,” said the spokesperson.
The fleet and equipment were high quality and well-maintained
“The quality of instruction from UKSA’s Mark and Leon could not have been better. In a week of low winds, they made the activity fun and enjoyable while we occasionally had to drift. The activities exceeded our expectations and the fleet and equipment were high quality and well-maintained. All in all, our trip was a fantastic opportunity and the scouts have requested more sailing with the UKSA instructors next year.”
