10 reasons to choose UKSA as your residential activity centre

10 reasons to choose UKSA as a residential activity centre for your school trip
|
|
1. Best residential centre for outdoor activities |
Voted Red Funnel Isle of Wight Ferry Awards 2022 Best Activity Provider Finalist, we’ve been delivering programmes to young people for over 35 years, and we continue to lead the field in outdoor learning experiences, using watersports and sailing as a catalyst for positive change. |
2. Outdoor team building activities |
Our purpose-built water-front campus creates a unique environment for learning, and we believe that the power of the sea can foster a positive change in all visitors to UKSA. The benefits of participation in sailing and watersports are multiple and proven, helping to build confidence, teamwork and resilience. |
3. Safe learning environment |
The safety, well-being and enjoyment of those visiting UKSA are our number one priority. We are a home-from-home for children and young people and pride ourselves on our exemplary safety protocols that sit within a robust and fully compliant framework. |
4. Expert training and support |
We have built up a superb team who have years of relevant experience and longstanding links with the maritime industry. Plus, we have an enviable reputation for our pastoral support work and mentoring with students. |
5. Why are summer programs important? |
All activities are mapped to our skills for life framework, and we share the outcomes achieved and insights gathered with schools in order to measure the impact of the experience on students’ personal development. |
6. Types of outdoor activities for children at UKSA |
Whether you would like to opt for one of our popular multi-activity programmes based around various watersports or would like us to design a customised programme to allow students to work towards an RYA qualification, we can create the right syllabus for your group. |
7. All-inclusive trip |
We have everything you need in one place with all training, instruction, accommodation, and food included. We also have a swimming pool, sports hall and dedicated common room areas to relax in |
8. Evening fun at UKSA |
We keep the fun going when the sun goes down with our evening entertainment programme. |
9. Leave no child behind |
Through our schools and groups programmes, we give thousands of children each year the chance to participate in sailing and watersports, many for the first time. However, we know in this age of austerity, some parents or guardians do not have the financial support to ensure their young people benefit from a trip to UKSA. We work with donors to create funds that can be accessed to ensure that financial background is never a barrier to life-enhancing experience at UKSA. |
10.Residential outdoor activity centre on the Isle of Wight |
Based on the Isle of Wight, we enjoy a mild climate, lots of sunshine and beautiful scenery on our doorstep. The Isle of Wight is also the home of international sailing and boasts some of the cleanest beaches in the UK. |
